Manchester United FC are in dire need of a left-footed left-back this summer after the team struggled following Luke Shaw’s injury last season. The Red Devils have been closely linked with Alex Telles lately having agreed on personal terms with him. It is now being reported by the Monday edition of A Bola, a Portuguese daily, that Telles’ agent has been slowly and secretively working hard to make this deal happen.
Alex Telles is one of the best players in the Portuguese league despite playing at left-back for Porto. Arguably known as one of the best-attacking full-backs in the world, Telles is ready to move to a bigger club and enhance his playing career. The 27-year is wanted by several clubs like PSG and Atletico Madrid but is keen on United the most and wants to join the Red Devils.
It has now been reported that United have offered Telles a contract of five years, worth £3.7 million per year, which is about four times his salary at Porto. Telles’ agent, Zahavi, is working very hard for his client to join United. The Red Devils have also been in talks with Porto and the only thing left is the transfer fee to be agreed between the clubs.
Porto are demanding about £18m for the services of Telles, but United are still trying to negotiate. Manchester United should be all over the Telles deal and must wrap it up as soon as possible and focus on other targets.
