Leicester City 0-1 Manchester United Match Report | Premier League 22-23

United faced Leicester City away from home and registered their third consecutive win helping the team jump to the 5th spot. No sooner did the game began than the United attacking frontier started their hefty shots on the Foxes. Brendon Rogers side didn’t manage a victory this season so far making them sit at the bottom of the table.

The home side made the first shot on target, but Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s bending shot was saved easily by De Gea. Minutes later, Eriksen had the first effort on goal for United which just went past the right side of the Leicester goalkeeper. In the 23rd minute of the game, after a quick recovery by Diego Dalot and winning back possession, a quick counter-attack brilliantly orchestrated by Bruno Fernandes put forward a sublime pass to Rashford who went on to pass Sancho who in turn went around the goalkeeper to score his trademark goal.

Harvey Barnes whipped a shot just over the bar which caused a nervous and a twitchy moment for the men in Red. David De Gea was found relieved as the ball went into the crowd. In the 2nd half of this fixture, the Foxes were trying their best to get the score even. Varane, Dalot and Martinez were all booked in the first half preventing them from making unnecessary tackles but they kept their composure intact and more importantly no errors were made from their end.

Maddison’s curling 25-yard free-kick was tipped away by De Gea to prevent it from going in. A few minutes later, Dewsbury-Hall whipped a dangerous ball into the box but Barnes couldn’t quite get his header under control.

The constant pressure from the home side forced Erik Ten Hag to introduce Casemiro and Ronaldo for Anthony Elanga and Sancho respectively.
Ronaldo came very close the second of the night from a brilliant over head kick but unfortunately, it went wide past the post.

In the dying moments of the game, Justin had a golden chance during added time but he blazed his effort over De Gea’s goal. United defence came in handy as the solid performance helped United maintain yet another clean sheet.
