Manchester United centre-back, Victor Lindelof has almost been an ever-present figure at the heart of Manchester United’s defence since a couple of years. The Swedish international has done well despite getting criticized by pundits because of his lack of physicality. In his recent interview with Fotbollskanalen, Lindelof has finally spoken about his injury and the hardships he has faced due to his back.
It was earlier reported that Lindelof will not be eligible to play Sweden’s friendly game due to quarantine rules. In the game against Everton, Solskjaer had confirmed after the game that Lindelof was suffering from a back issue, after a hectic schedule for the Red Devils. With the shortage of centre-backs, United would hope Lindelof’s injury isn’t too serious and he will get back to fitness as soon as possible.
In his interview, Lindelof said: “The back feels OK. I’ve been having problems for a few weeks. I’ve struggled through the matches there have been. It’s nice that I got a few days off now, where there has only been treatment, and I really tried to rest.”
The defender has been an integral member for Manchester United and Solskjaer needs him to be fit.
Lindelof has had a mixed start to the season but has done very well lately to cement his place in the starting lineup. The centre-back has now got much-needed rest and should be ready to kick on as the international break ends next week.
