The game finished all square at Anfield as the Red Devils still sit on top of the Premier league table and would be happy to come away with a point in what has become Liverpool’s fortress over the years.
Manchester again took some time to get of the blocks and it seemed like Liverpool may land up getting something on the scorecard before halftime. Manchester managed to survive that period and created some great chances later on in the game.
MATCH PROCEEDINGS
Manchester United extended their unbeaten streak in the Premier League and manage to say on top of the table. Things took a slow start as Liverpool managed to create some good attacks in the beginning.
It all felt like one-way traffic till about the half-hour mark and Liverpool was just waiting for an opening but as the game progressed Manchester United slowly got into their groove and started to mount some serious threat.
A little before half-time Bruno Fernandes’s freekick was the best chance as it just swirled a bit wide and it initiated Manchester United into the game properly.
Liverpool kept creating chances but apart from Thiago’s shot and a few attempts that missed narrowly De Gea wasn’t tested a lot by the Liverpool attacking trio.
Alisson removed two great saves from Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba in the second half to keep Liverpool in the game.
Liverpool enjoyed more of the position and even had more attempts in general but Manchester United had more attempt on target and had some genuinely good chances of sealing the match against this Liverpool team.
Manchester United is still sitting on top of the table but with Manchester City still having a game in hand one can only wait and see.
