Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku has reportedly claimed that he wants his Manchester United future to be resolved before the preseason begins amid transfer links to Serie A club Inter Milan.
Since joining Manchester United from Everton back in the summer of 2017 for a massive £75 million deal, Lukaku has never really become a fan favorite despite scoring goals on a regular basis for the Red Devils.
Lukaku still has three years left on his United contract and has a rather healthy goalscoring profile as he has netted 42 times in 96 appearances for the English side. However, the big center-forward has found his game time reduced drastically under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he has been restricted to appearances from the bench. The star forward has also claimed that he feels unwanted at United with the fans and unimportant with the manager as well.
In order to find regular football elsewhere, Lukaku has decided to keep his options open on joining Serie A club Inter Milan in the summer to play under Antonio Conte. However, the 26-year-old has given Manchester United an ultimatum to make a decision before the 1st of July on whether to keep or sell him.
The Red half of Manchester begin their preseason on the 1st of July when most of the players will be back from their holidays and vacations. Out of respect for the fans and the club as well, Lukaku has asked Manchester United to finalize a decision on his future amid transfer links elsewhere.
It’s unlikely that Lukaku will remain at Manchester United next season after coming under heavy criticism for performances below par. Therefore he has asked the club to finalize the decision in the next few days which could mean the end of Lukaku’s United spell.
