Luke Chadwick can’t see Pogba signing a new contract

Former Manchester United midfielder Luke Chadwick admits that he will be surprised if Pogba commits his future to the club.

Pogba has been the subject of numerous transfer rumors in recent months, with the France international nearing the end of his current contract at Old Trafford.

Man United has until the end of the season to settle out Pogba’s contract issues and prevent him from leaving on a free transfer, but Chadwick seems increasingly resigned to that occurring.

While having an exclusive chat with CaughtOffSide, Luke Chadwick said:

“Pogba’s played incredibly well at times, but then gone missing. The sending-off against Liverpool was a real disappointment for him and the club. And now the injury, it’s really bad timing. “

“I’m sure the sort of player Pogba is, he’ll come back and probably be at the top of his game, maybe with one eye on what happens in the summer.”

“I’d be very surprised now if he does sign another contract with the club. I can see him being on his way at the end of the season when his contract comes to an end.”

With Pogba out for the two months due to thigh injury, Chadwick acknowledges that United supporters may not see much more of the 28-year-old in the renowned red shirt.

Pogba has been targeted by top clubs like Paris Saint Germain and Barcelona, as they plan to sign a pre-contract agreement with him in January. Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has been tight-lipped on the French midfielder’s future club which is quite strange.

Even if Pogba decides to stay, he will be demanding a spot in the starting XI on a regular basis. In the case United prefer to change their manager, it will be interesting to see whether Pogba will be an important member of the team or still a bench warmer.
