Manchester United FC player Luke Shaw has showered praise on teammate Paul Pogba for his wonderful performance in the recent 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspurs. Both players were part of the Red Devils squad in their first Premier League game since March.
Shaw started the game at left-back for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The visitors were left trailing after David De Gea’s error allowed Bergwijn to score for the hosts. Dea Gea’s shambolic performance in the match earned the goalkeeper fierce criticism from Red Devils legend Roy Keane.
Pogba was not a part of the Manchester United FC starting lineup against Spurs on Saturday night. Instead, the French international warmed the bench after recovering from an ankle injury suffered earlier this year. However, Solskjaer had the opportunity to call upon the 27-year old in the 63rd minute, when Pogba replaced Fred on the pitch.
The World-Cup winning midfielder soon put in an impressive shift in the Manchester United FC midfield. Red Devils supporters watching at home finally got their wish fulfilled of wanting to see Pogba play alongside new signing Bruno Fernandes.
Pogba was brilliant both on and off the ball against Spurs. His brilliant run, which led to Eric Dier fouling him in the penalty area, earned his side a penalty. The spot-kick was soon dispatched by Bruno Fernandes without any difficulties and drew the game level.
Shaw stated that he congratulated Pogba following the end of the game in the Manchester United FC dressing room. The English left-back voiced his delight at both Pogba and Rashford returning to the Red Devils squad after their respective injuries.
The Manchester United FC left-back also expressed his desire of Pogba starting their side’s next game on Wednesday. The Red Devils are bound to play Sheffield United at Old Trafford on 24th June. The game is very important for both sides as they seek to achieve a Champions League spot for next season.
