Manchester United captain sees a lot of potential in Amad Diallo and has compared him to Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez.
Amad Diallo has already shown his star potential against Real Sociedad and it’s just a matter of time until he will be well rooted to this United squad. Signed from Atlanta, Amad has already been a great tactical option for Solksjaer as he possesses great counter-attacking abilities.
Shaw just spoke out on the way the captain looks at the starlet and his progress in the club. He hailed praises on the young winger.
“He’s still so young but he’s come into training and you can tell he’s got confidence,” United defender Luke Shaw told Sky Sports.
“You can tell by the way he plays, his first touch is brilliant, the way he takes the ball and drives at players. He’s got great skill. Of course, like I said, very and got a long way to go. But you can tell already he’s going to be one for the future and I’m sure he’s not far away from getting a first-team appearance. He’s a wonderful talent and already a wonderful player so I’m sure fans are looking forward to seeing him on the pitch.”
Shaw further stated that Maguire has already seen the progress of Riyad Mahrez from his time at Leicester City and therefore he has compared his ability to the one that Diallo possesses.
“It was interesting because Harry said to me the other day that he reminds him of Mahrez when he was at Leicester. Really quick, skillful, agility, can turn really quick, got great skills and I would agree with Harry that he does remind me of Mahrez. Even the way Mahrez plays now I’ve seen the qualities that Amad already has and has shown in training. Mahrez is a wonderful player so hopefully, if he’s any good like him it would be great for United.”
Amad is still young and has a lot to prove for the team. Having several senior players to learn from and the likes of Rashford at the wings will provide him more clarity. Will he be the next Mahrez or better than Mahrez, only time will tell. We are highly positive about this one.
