Luke Shaw Vows Better And Improved United For The Upcoming Season

English left back Luke Shaw has sent out a message to the Manchester United faithful that the club will perform much better for the upcoming season.

The Red Devils endured a torturous season last term as they finished in sixth place on the Premier League table but without any real chance of winning any silverware and not competing for honors as well. Norwegian boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a massive job on his hands to build on the team this summer transfer window and keep hold of the players that he desires.

Manchester United finished 32 points behind leaders and League champions Manchester City while Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool won the prestigious Champions League title by beating Tottenham Hotspur in the final. Chelsea won the Europa League against local London rivals Arsenal in the final at Baku but United was nowhere near silverware.

There have been a lot of bitter pills for United to swallow over the past few seasons ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left the helm but Luke Shaw has admitted that the previous campaign was one of the hardest to digest.

While speaking to reporters in the preseason the 24-year-old defender explained that most of the players could not enjoy their holidays and vacations because the poor season the United went through was on their minds.

Shaw said, “It was really tough for all of us to take and you couldn’t really enjoy your holidays, You see the Champions League final and the Europa League final and they’re all English teams. It makes you feel even worse, and especially the way the finals went. None of us want that to happen again.”

The left-back then vowed that the team will do better to next season as they have returned with a different mindset, “I think that’s why we’ve all come back again with a different mindset. We had that break to clear our minds but now we’re all focused on getting United back to where they belong and not let the likes of the teams we’ve seen in the finals have it that easy.”
