Manchester United have now won eight games away from home consecutively in the Premier League after the win against Southampton last night. The Red Devils came back from a 2-nil deficit to win the game 2-3, courtesy a brace from Edinson Cavani. In his post-match press conference, Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has lauded Cavani and has asked the other United strikers to learn from him.
Last night in a crazy Manchester United comeback, Cavani held the key to the Red Devils’ success and all their goals. After coming on at half-time, Cavani was involved in heavily in the gameplay and provided the assist for Bruno Fernandes before scoring a brace himself. The striker showed great movement off the ball and brilliant awareness to score the goals and proved why United signed him.
In his interview, Maguire explained: “His movement when the ball is wide is to a level that not many strikers can reach. He is always on the move, always getting across people and that’s why he has always scored goals. So if there are any strikers out here wanting to learn and watch, I am sure they are studying his movement and what he has done in his career.”
Cavani was signed on the last day of the transfer window and was a cause of a lot of speculation at Old Trafford. But he has done well in a Manchester United jersey till now and will be expected to come up with more goals as the season progresses by.
