Edinson Cavani was signed by Manchester United on the last day of the summer transfer window as a backup striker to Anthony Martial. His signing had divided the United fanbase as many believed he is too old to play for the Red Devils. In his recent post-match interview, Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire has hailed Cavani on his first goal for the Red Devils, against Everton last night.
The Uruguayan striker is yet to start a game for Manchester United but is being slowly integrated into the team. He has had a few good cameos and finally managed to get his first goal for United last night. Cavani has worked very hard to get back to full fitness and has shown what he can do when he is fit and fine.
In his interview, Maguire said: “It’s great to see Cavani come on. He worked tirelessly up there and did the dirty work and he got his rewards right at the end. I think he’s going to be a big player for us, he’s going to score goals. He knows where the back of the net is and I’ve seen that in training a few times already.”
Edinson Cavani is one of the best penalty box strikers in the world and has scored goals everywhere. If he gets into his rhythm, Cavani will be a menace to opposition defenders, as he gets into some unplayable positions. Manchester United and Solskjaer would hope for Cavani to score a lot of more goals for the club.
