Maguire responds to Roy Keane’s criticism

Manchester United have had a poor start to the season, but wins in the Champions League looked like the team had turned a corner. But with the loss to Arsenal, the critics have come back to haunt Manchester United and its players. In his recent press conference, the Red Devils captain, Harry Maguire has responded to the criticism, especially from ex-United captain Roy Keane.

It was earlier reported that Roy Keane had heavily criticized the Red Devils and also commented on their commitment. United players had a poor game against Arsenal as the team failed to show any intent at Old Trafford. But recently the Red Devils captain has responded to Keane’s comments and has left no stone unturned.

Maguire said: “I haven’t seen his comments because especially after a negative result we don’t bring the negativity into the place. We stay positive and I can say for sure that there’s a lot of leaders in this squad. I’m the captain and I’ve got a lot of leadership around me — staff and players.”

There seems to be absolutely no leadership at Manchester United, as performances from the team have been way too inconsistent. Maguire needs to step up as the Manchester United captain and should take notes of what the likes of Keane and Ferdinand have done for the club. Solskjaer would hope that his captain and the entire squad would be more responsible and perform at the highest level consistently.
