As reported by The Manchester Evening News, Harry Maguire has revealed the reason behind Luke Shaw’s great return to form.
Luke Shaw, remember the name, the man behind so many assists and so many chances created for both, Manchester United and England. He was again in the spotlight as he provided two wonderful assists against Ukraine as England won the match with a 4-0 scoreline to book their place in the semi-finals of the Euro 2020/21.
He is in the form of his life, and a powerful assists machine from past so many months. But he has not been the same always, he had his ups and downs but the most remarkable thing is the way he fought back from the difficulties that had once ruined his career.
Harry Maguire was right with him from the time he signed from Leicester and from years playing alongside him in the England national team. Maguire has revealed the most remarkable ability that has increased Luke Shaw’s performance to the highest level.

He said: “I think first and foremost his ability has always been there. He has great ability, he has every attribute to be one of the best left-backs in the world. I would probably say the main difference I feel within Luke is his mentality, in terms of pushing himself and really the demands he is putting on himself now to not just be a six out of 10 in each and every game, not to play comfortably. To go and push on and be himself and push himself to be the best player on the pitch, because there’s no reason why he can’t do that with all the attributes and ability that he has.”
Shaw’s mental strength has helped him overcome some of the big troubles that he had faced and most particularly the one he faced under Jose Mourinho’s reign at Manchester United.
We hope he continues to perform at this level next season as well. Meanwhile, he will have his scoring shoes ready for England’s semi-final match against Denmark.
