Man United defender Diogo Dalot unsure about his future at Milan

As indicated by Gazzetta Dello Sport, Manchester United star Diogo Dalot has revealed that he is uncertain about his future as he doesn’t know what’s next for him after his AC Milan spell ends.

The 22-year-old spent the 2020/21 season on loan at AC Milan. While he was not in his best shape yet he was able to get two goals and three assists to his name.

Dalot never fully settled himself as a regular starter for United. While he has been getting less attention at United, he made a good name at San Siro as he had featured for them a lot of times.

With the season now finished, United has a choice to make in regards to the 22-year-old’s future. Milan is yet to settle on a choice whether to keep the player or release him. Dalot himself has conceded that he is uncertain of what’s in store for him. He making the most of his time in Italy and accepts he improved the strategic play of his game.

He said: “I feel I have improved a lot tactically. It was a real pleasure to play for Milan, but now I’m thinking about the European Championship, and I really don’t know what will happen.”

As indicated by a prior report, United will actually want to sell the player for £13m. While it addresses a loss on what we paid for him, his performances for United haven’t been good enough. Equipped for playing on one or the other flank, Dalot’s adaptability is a significant help for a Milan side that needs signings this summer.

With Champions League football next season, they should be ready. While a move to the San Siro is a doubt, he may get back to Italy with AS Roma. New manager Jose Mourinho may decide to sign the player for the second time in his career, this time in the Italian capital.

The Red Devils are on the lookout for a right-back this summer. Fit for playing on one or the other flank, Dalot has the range of abilities to be that man. But he isn’t productive, so we don’t think that they will keep him.

Dalot’s contract runs until 2023 and the odds of him staying at United seem distant. Regardless of whether his future lies in Italy or somewhere else stays not yet clear.
