According to journalist Dean Jones, a number of Manchester United players are still hoping for Donny van de Beek to be a success at the club.
Van de Beek joined United from Ajax for £40 million in September 2020, but he has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford. Former United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not appear to like Van de Beek, giving him only four Premier League starts in his first season with the club.
In the early stages of this season, the 24-year-playing old’s playing time was even more limited. He only played 68 minutes of Premier League football before joining Everton on loan for the rest of the season on January’s deadline day.

Van van Beek started six consecutive league games at Goodison Park under Frank Lampard, although he is presently out with a thigh injury.
The Former Ajax midfielder’s stint at United has not gone according to plan so far, but Jones claims that top individuals at the club are hoping that van de Beek will play more for Manchester United next season.
While having a chat with GiveMeSport, Dean Jones said:
“I think we have to consider that one of the big tasks is to get van de Beek into this United team for next season. There are a lot of people at the club that still want that transfer to work out.”
Erik ten Hag appears to be on his way to becoming United’s new manager, which may be excellent news for Donny. Between 2018 and 2020, the two worked together at Ajax, and van de Beek flourished as the Dutch giants advanced to the Champions League semi-finals in 2019.
Ten Hag appears to understand how to get the best out of Donny Van de Beek, which might mean that the Old Trafford will finally discover how important the midfielder is.
Of course, Erik Ten Hag will have to figure out how to use both, Donny and Bruno Fernandes, who both tend to prefer playing in an advanced midfield position.
