Real Sociedad are keen on signing Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek during the ongoing transfer period, as reported by Noticias de Gipuzkoa.
Despite spending three seasons with the Red Devils, the Dutch player has participated in just 60 matches and faced challenges in adapting to the Premier League.
The United midfielder may be let go in the upcoming weeks, and Real Sociedad have identified him as a key target to bolster their midfield.
While the player has given his approval for a move to the Champions League team, a deal is proving complex due to the divergent transfer demands set by United.
Real Sociedad would prefer a loan arrangement with an option to buy, whereas the Red Devils are inclined to recover their investment in Van de Beek. They are leaning towards either a permanent transfer or a loan deal with an obligatory purchase clause.

Van de Beek was signed from Ajax for €39 million three years ago, but Noticias de Gipuzkoa’s sources suggest that Man United are willing to offload him for slightly more than €20 million this summer.
After a lacklustre performance in the first half of the previous season, Donny van de Beek’s campaign was cut short in January due to a substantial knee injury sustained against Bournemouth.
United have subsequently strengthened its midfield by adding Mason Mount, who is expected to assume the primary role in the number eight position, with Christian Eriksen as a backup option.
As a result, there seems to be no place for Van de Beek currently. The 26-year-old player appears to understand this situation, but any move depends on Real Sociedad striking an agreement with his parent club.

The English giants are prepared to part ways with him on a permanent basis. We believe that the Spanish club might suggest a loan arrangement with an obligation to buy based on the number of appearances Van de Beek makes.
This proposal could involve a specific number of matches that the Dutch star needs to participate in to trigger a permanent transfer.
