Man United still in contact with Randal Kolo Muani’s agency amid Hojlund links

According to the Athletic, Manchester United are engaged in simultaneous talks with two strikers – Randal Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt and Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta – despite already reaching an agreement on personal terms with the latter.

The club is also on the brink of finalizing the signing of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana for a fee of €55 million, and the player is scheduled to undergo his medical examination on Wednesday morning.

United’s main focus now is securing a new centre-forward, and they have made progress with Hojlund. The Athletic reports that there is already an initial agreement in place with the Danish star regarding personal terms.

Atalanta values the striker at €70 million with an additional €10 million in add-ons, but United intends to negotiate a lower transfer fee to meet Financial Fair Play regulations.

In addition to Hojlund, Man United are also exploring other options for another centre-forward. They are currently engaged in parallel discussions with Randal Kolo Muani for a potential transfer.

United’s priority in the transfer market is currently focused on signing Hojlund from Atalanta. Despite his modest numbers of 10 goals and four assists last season, the 20-year-old striker possesses great potential, excelling in his physique, aerial ability, finishing, and impressive pace on counter-attacks.

He has drawn comparisons to Erling Braut Haaland and could become an elite striker under the guidance of United boss Erik ten Hag.

However, personally, my preference would be for the club to sign Kolo Muani instead. The 24-year-old had an outstanding debut season in Germany, scoring 23 goals and providing 17 assists in 46 games.

Muani’s strengths extend beyond goal contributions, as he excels in winning ground and aerial duels, averaging more than two take-ons per game in the Bundesliga.

Although there is currently no concrete interest in Muani, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Bayern Munich are also considering options.

French champions PSG are focused on Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos, while Bayern are in talks with Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, who was initially United’s main target for the summer.
