Manchester United held leaders Liverpool to a 1-1 draw and thus ended the 17 game winning streak that the Merseyside team started back in March. Marcus Rashford scored 8 minutes from the half time whistle, following a controversial foul on Liverpool’s Divock Origi in the buildup to the goal. Liverpool were never at their best in the game as United put on a tactical game plan to thwart the Reds free flowing movements. Adam Lallana came off the bench to score the equiliser, a goal after almost 2 years for the Englishman.
David De Gea – 6
There were big doubts on his availability for the game following his injury during the international break, but he started and played for the full 90 minutes. Decent game for the Spaniard. Couldn’t do much to stop the Lallana equiliser. Made a couple routine saves in the opening period.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6
Started after 3 games and looked confident to play down the channel. Defensively strong and didn’t offer any space to Liverpool attackers. Can improve his crossing game. Should’ve dealt better with the equiliser.
Harry Maguire – 6.5
Dominant display from the Three Lions centre half. Looked calm on the ball and did almost everything right apart from concession of the goal. Intercepted the ball each time any Liverpool midfielder threaded in a through ball.
Victor Lindelof – 5.5
A below par performance from the Swede. Muscled out at times from Divock Original and Sadio Mane. Comfortable distributing the ball. Culprit for letting the ball run through to Lallana.
Ashley Young – 6
Captain Young managed not to offer any room to either of Sadio Mane or Trent Alexander-Arnold. Eased the Liverpool RB off the ball using all his experience. Another guilty party in the goal conceded.
Marcos Rojo – 6
The Argentine was not in the starting eleven when the lineups were announced, but had to come in as Axel Tuanzebe got injured in the warm up to the game. Managed the emergency really well. Couldn’t offer any offensive threat though.
Scott McTominay – 7
Big game from the Scotland International. Wasn’t at his best for the entire period but did some industrious work. His work ethic has been the reason why Nemanja Matic spends so much time on the sidelines these days. Slipped the balk for Daniel James for the Rashford goal.
Fred – 7.5
Tremendous presence on the field. The Brazilian needs many such performances to cement his place. Potentially threatening ofeensively. Managed the pass-cutting between any Liverpool midfielders and attackers.
Andreas Pereira – 8 – MoTM
Superb game for Pereira. The man was under some serious pressure after the last few games but boy did he play well! Created so many chances in the opening stages and looked pretty confident everytine on the ball.
Released the likes of Rashford and James time and again.
Daniel James – 7.5
First United-Liverpool game and first assist for the Welshman. Beautiful cross for the Rashford goal after being in the right place at the right time to receive the ball off McTominay. Was winded off by Van Dijk but was okay to continue.

Marcus Rashford – 8
Outmuscled by Van Dijk, but made sure that he took United’s lone clear cut chance to score. Nice finish to put it past Alisson. His run through the wing just in the opening half should’ve been resulted into something.
Substitutes –
Anthony Martial – 5
Came on to make a much anticipated return to replace Rashford. He slotted in the striker’s role.
Brandon Williams – N/A
Not enough time to make an impact. Would be delighted to have made his Premier League debut in such a enormous game.
