As reported by the club’s official website, Manchester United will be playing against Aston Villa in the FA Cup third-round draw, which took place yesterday.
The match will take place between the 7th and 10th of January 2022 at Old Trafford, with Ralf Rangnick’s Reds against Steven Gerrard’s Villa side.
The match will take place just one week before the League match between the two sides. Villa defeated United 1-0 in the Premier League earlier this season, so the Reds will be looking for sweet revenge.

United has faced Villa in the FA Cup third round five times since the turn of the century, winning all five games. With both teams settling in with new managers, this should be an exciting and closely contested cup match.
In other matches, Manchester City will go to Swindon, while Liverpool will play Football League One side, Shrewsbury. Chelsea will face Chesterfield of the National League, one of five non-league teams in the draw.
David Moyes’s West Ham, who are currently in fourth place in the Premier League, will face Bielsa’s Leeds United.
Ralf Rangnick’s new squad, which is now seventh in the league and has already exited the EFL Cup, will be hoping for a solid cup run. Under interim manager Michael Carrick, the Reds made it out of their group and into the last 16 of the Champions League, so he’ll be aiming for success in the FA Cup and the Champions League.
Rangnick’s first taste of victory with the Reds came on Sunday when his side beat Palace 1-0 in front of their home fans.
