The pre-match conference with Mourinho

Jose Mourinho had a small 8-minute conference with the media where he was asked substantial questions on the match coming up and also on his relationship with United. Here are a few:

How would you like to sum up a bad week United had?

“I think difficult, difficult is after the match you lose, it is always difficult, especially for people that really care about the job, about being football pro, but after that you think about the next match.”

“You do the same when you win, you have to move on and focus what next and when you lose you have to do even more.”

What according to you is the reason for your loss against Brighton?

“I feel we played well against

Leicester and we won, I felt we played bad against Brighton and we lost. I would like to play well and win. It’s to play well and win, don’t make mistakes, that’s what we want.”

Any changes in the starting XI?

“I don’t know because today is still Friday and there is training Saturday and Sunday, match Monday, there are decisions to be made Sunday but yes [Matic and Valencia are] training with the team, Dalot also training with the team for the first time this week so in terms of medical department they are almost free.”

When asked about Tottenham “I’m not going to comment on Mauricio Pochettino’s side,” he said.

When asked about his problems with Woodward he said: “his relationship with Woodward was fine and there were no problems between them.”

Are you ready to play Spurs?

“You have to play against 19 opponents at Old Trafford and 19 opponents away. You have to play against everyone. I don’t know when is the right time. The time is now, the fixtures were decided this way and we have to play Tottenham Hotspur in the second match at Old Trafford before we go away twice in a row against Burnley and Watford. This is what it is and, of course, it’s a difficult match against a team that last season finished in the top four, so [it’s a] difficult match.”
