Manchester United 3-2 Norwich City Match Report | EPL 21-22

What else does the United squad and the fans want after Cristiano Ronaldo once again rejuvenated the Old Trafford after completing his thunderous hat trick in front of the Stretford End. Cheers of joy and screaming covered the whole stadium as Ronaldo once again gave United the life line to a game that almost went out of hand even though United fully deserved it.

In the 7th minute of the game Elanga’s pressure on Ben Gibson was enough to dispossess the ball sluggishly and as a result the Swedish unselfishly gave a right footed pass to Ronaldo who made no mistake and helped the Red Devils be on the front foot.

Ronaldo once again in the 32nd minute of the game gave United the added advantage over this tie. Jesse Lingard’s right footed shot wasn’t enough for Tim Krul to make a comfortable save and as a result the ball went out for a corner. Alex Telles put forward an exceptional ball inside the box making the Norwich defenders star struck as Ronaldo did what he does with his header.

It seemed as if Ronaldo enjoyed the tempo of the game today. Moreover, the Old Trafford crowd were buzzing with enjoyment. Ronaldo tried a bicycle kick a few minutes later which eventually flew past the East Stand.

Just before the final whistle of the first-half was blown, a rare Canaries attack set up by Dimitris Giannoulis found Pukki, who put forward a brilliant ball to Kieran Dowell who was completely unmarked.

Just after seven minutes into the 2nd half, Norwich pulled back another goal bringing them on level terms. Another linkup play between Dowell and Pukki seemed quite ferocious as Dowell this time assisted Pukki with an outrageous through-ball. Pukki made no mistakes and scored from the lovery opportunity. There was a VAR check for a possible off-side but unfortunately, it was deemed on by the VAR.

Ragnick subbed off Jesse Lingard and brought Matic on after 63mins to strengthen the United defence. To inject creativity and danger, Ragnick brought Rashford and Mata on as well.

In the 76th minute of the game Elanga was fouled by Dimitri Giannoulis. Well Ronaldo is an inevitable man. It is proved after today’s majestic performance. A rocket of a goal from that free-kick gave United once the much needed lead to keep the top-four hopes alive. United are currently on the 5th position after Spurs and Arsenal both dropped points in this top-four race.
