The latest reports have claimed that Premier League giants Manchester United have agreed on terms with Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen over a potential move to the Theatre Of Dreams this summer transfer window.
The Red Devils are desperate to improve on their sixth-place finish from last season and club manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has splashed out the big funds to bolster his squad. Manchester United have signed Daniel James, Aaron Wan Bissaka and also broke the bank to sign central defender Harry Maguire from Leicester City earlier this week.
However, despite these stellar additions to the squad, there is still some speculation revolving ace midfielder Paul Pogba. The World Cup-winning French midfielder has been linked with a move to La Liga outfit Real Madrid and even Pogba has admitted that it would be a dream come true to play his football at the Santiago Bernabeu and under his national compatriot Zinedine Zidane.
Having already lost Belgian star Marouane Fellaini to the Chinese Super League earlier in the January transfer window and Spaniard Ander Herrera joined Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer this summer, United are falling slightly short in their midfield department.
In order to replace Pogba if he leaves, United are targeting another top quality midfielder in the form of Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen. The Danish playmaker has been one of Spurs’ key players over the past few seasons and the 27-year-old has been on the radar of Real Madrid as well.
But United are confident of agreeing on a deal for Eriksen to snatch the midfield gem to the Theatre Of Dreams despite Spurs asking around £60 million for their prized asset. The 20 time League champions are also willing to offer Eriksen wages close to Pogba’s which will make him the third-highest earner at Manchester United if he makes the switch before the transfer window shuts.
