Manchester United board are keeping close tabs on Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley and might even consider signing him before the deadline day.
Several Premier League teams are interested in his services and that could lead to a bidding war in the upcoming days. According to ESPN, United has joined the likes of Arsenal, Leicester, Liverpool and Newcastle United in the race to sign the midfield maestro. Even French clubs like Lille and German clubs like Wolfsburg are targeting a move.
Current Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou would be forced to let the English-born player leave if the right offer comes through. A €20million offer would be a tempting one but it could rise depending on the 21-year-old’s performance.
The Scottish club are not desperate for cash since they are playing Champions League football. The young starlet was signed by the Scottish club in January and he could be a valuable future asset for his club.
It would be a smart idea to sign a young dynamic midfielder but the board would certainly provide fewer players to Celtic since the player lacks experience.
However, Matt O’Riley played a key role in helping his club win the Scottish League and that could be a major talking point.
