According to the daily briefing by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are on the verge of agreeing on a new contract with Marcus Rashford.
The 25-year-old forward’s current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2024, but the club has successfully persuaded him to commit to a new long-term deal.
Rashford, who has been playing for United since his early years, has risen through the ranks to become a key figure in their attacking line. Joining the first team in 2016, the 25-year-old has consistently displayed his potential and leadership qualities.
However, the past season proved to be challenging for Rashford as injuries hindered his performance and prevented him from hitting his stride. Despite the setbacks, the English international showcased resilience and made a strong comeback.
Rashford displayed his prowess in front of goal during the 2022/23 season, scoring 30 times in 56 appearances across all competitions. Additionally, he provided 11 assists, showcasing his ability to contribute to the team’s attack.

Following his impressive performances, several clubs have taken notice of the 25-year-old star, whose current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2024. With only one year remaining on his deal, multiple clubs have expressed interest in securing his services.
Paris Saint-Germain has expressed strong interest in signing Rashford, benefitting from their financial capabilities to attract top talent.
With his exceptional skills, the academy graduate could easily secure a place in the starting lineup of any leading European club. As he could become a free agent in a year, numerous clubs would likely pursue him.
Hence, United have been actively working on extending his contract. According to Romano, the negotiations have progressed well, and a new deal for Rashford is close to being finalized.
