Manchester United confident of landing PSV Eindhoven striker Cody Gakpo

As reported by the Express, Manchester United are confident to agree to a deal to sign Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven this January.

The Dutchman has had an incredible season in only 12 Eredivisie games for PSV, contributing 11 assists and scoring nine goals.

As Erik ten Hag tries to acquire some top-notch players, Gakpo has frequently been linked with a move to United, but they were unable to sign him in the summer. However, after a recent update, a January shift might still be in the cards. Gakpo is the kind of player who, in what might be an inspiring signing, could provide extra sparkle and end product to United’s attacking unit.

With Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial, not having long-term solutions and questions lingering about players like Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Anthony Elanga’s consistency, new signings may be required in that area.

Gakpo, who is only 23 years old, has already made 104 goal contributions (55 goals and 49 assists) in just 157 PSV games, and also demonstrating his talent on the international stage with three goals in nine caps.

For United, the World Cup could be a terrific opportunity to observe this talent up close. Other Premier League teams are also closely observing the player’s progress but the Dutch striker has set his sights on a move to Old Trafford.
