According to Give Me Sport (as quoted by the Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are considering a move for Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez this summer.
The 22-year-old has been in fine form for the Spanish side and has helped his team in providing a tough competition to Real Madrid and Barcelona in the La Liga.
The youngster is under contract until 2027 and is expected to stay at Estadi Montilivi until there is some serious interest.
Arsenal, West Ham and Man Utd have shown interest in Gutierrez at this moment. Girona will be working to keep hold of the majority of their players so that they can remain strong for the upcoming campaign.
However, it is natural for top clubs to target their players after their spectacular performance in the Spanish league. United are struggling in their left-back position. Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia remain sidelined for the majority of the sidelines.

The former made just 15 appearances before being ruled out and the latter is in his recovery process. It is unlikely that they will return this season with Diogo Dalot taking up the burden of covering the left-back spot for most of the games.
Hence, the Red Devils need to sign a back-up defender amid reports that they might sell some of their current crop of players. Gutierrez could be a star player for his club and country in the future.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe would be targeting young players in the next transfer window. However, United face some hurdles in this deal.
Real Madrid inserted a buy-back clause before selling him to Girona. This means that they are in a position to hijack this move and bring him back to Santiago Bernabeu.

Also, Manchester City Football Group’s influence on the club might make this difficult for the Red Devils. Other clubs might also enter the race and make it complicated for United.
Nevertheless, Gutierrez is a top player but the English giants might need to dodge several obstacles before they can seal the transfer. It remains to be seen whether they are successful in luring the left-back to Old Trafford next season.
