Manchester United are said to be considering making an offer to sign Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder in this summer’s transfer window and line up a replacement for the unsettled Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo’s desire to leave Old Trafford has been well documented as of late and should the Portuguese dangerman call it quits with United in the summer, the club will have their task cut out bringing in a viable attacking player to lead the line.
According to a report from the French news outlet Media Foot ( via TeamTalk), Manchester United are joined by fellow Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers in the chase for Wissam Ben Yedder’s signature.
Ben Yedder’s stellar run of displays across the previous season with Monaco have made him a top name on the shopping list for the Manchester United board who could be asked to shell out a £40 million fee to land the French forward.
It remains to be seen whether United and the club’s new boss Eric ten Hag would relent to paying that sizable amount for the 31-year-old Ben Yedder with Ten Hag prioritising agreements to sign midfielder Frenkie de Jong and Ajax centre-back Lisandro Martinez.
