According to the Manchester Evening News, Chelsea and Manchester United have spoken with Ismael Bennacer’s agent about a possible transfer to the Premier League.
Bennacer played for the English club Arsenal for two years before signing with Empoli in 2017 for less than £1 million. Milan grabbed the French-born midfielder for a fee of around €17.20m after he put in a solid two years in Italy.
Bennacer, who is out of contract in 2024 and is currently valued at €40 million, is currently being tempted by his current club to sign a new, long-term contract. They do have some rivals vying for his signature. Arsenal are still looking forward to having him back at the Emirates Stadium, and Premier League rivals Chelsea and United are also thought to be interested in his services.
A new agent, Enzo Raiola, the cousin of the late Mino, has recently joined forces with Bennacer. The story also indicates that the less well-known Raiola has been contacted by both United and Chelsea.
Even though Casemiro was acquired in the summer, the Red Devils might sign another midfielder. Prior to swiftly gaining the services of the skilled Brazilian, they had spent the entire summer window pursuing Barcelona maestro Frenkie de Jong.
Chelsea are keen on landing Bennacer and his teammate, Rafael Leao as they seek to form a solid team under Graham Potter.
