As reported by the Express, Manchester United could get the perfect competition for Diogo Dalot by signing young right-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.
Erik ten Hag has a big task in hand when it comes to deciding his future right-back choices. Diogo Dalot has been impressive but Aaron Wan-Bissaka has little chance of succeeding under the boss.
Dalot has started the majority of Manchester United’s games this season since he is the only option on the right side of the defence. Due to the Portuguese’s success, there are rumours that United will extend his contract in the upcoming months.
However, even if the 23-year-old is doing well, the club needs to find appropriate competition for that particular position. The Express reports that the Red Devils could target Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong
This season, Frimpong has been in excellent form, recording two goals and two assists in 12 games. He appears to be someone United wants to bring to the Premier League.
Leverkusen is in a rather advantageous negotiation position. Frimpong won’t need to be sold for a lesser price anytime soon because his contract with the German side runs through the summer of 2025.
A transfer in the upcoming transfer window seems highly unlikely but the club will continue to monitor the defender’s progress for the time being.
