Manchester United could include Donny van de Beek in a cash-plus-player offer for Frenkie de Jong who is the top name on the shopping list at Old Trafford in this summer’s transfer window.
De Jong, however, has chosen to play the waiting game over signing for his long-standing suitors and recent weeks have also seen United’s plans of landing the Dutchman rivalled by Premier League foes Chelsea.
The Blues can lure De Jong to Stamford Bridge with the offer of a chance to play in the Champions League and to live in the English capital London which further adds to United’s misery on the transfer front.
According to The Daily Express, it is claimed that Old Trafford outcast Donny van de Beek, following his struggles in adapting to life in the Premier League, can be sent in the opposite direction to get the deal for De Jong over the line.
Barcelona are in need of a viable playmaking option in their ranks to provide the firepower up top for the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this coming season.
