Manchester United could move in for Brentford striker Ivan Toney this summer

Manchester United could move in for Brentford striker Ivan Toney this summer with uncertainty looming over Cristiano Ronaldo’s future as the Portuguese superstar pushes for a move away.

Toney was one of the standout performers in the Brentford camp last season and the 26-year-old finds himself to be a coveted name in this summer’s transfer window with the likes of Newcastle, West Ham and Leeds United said to be keen to secure his services.

According to a report from The Daily Mirror, Manchester United are also right in the mix for Toney who netted 14 goals and chipped in with six assists last term and could be set for a surprise ticket to Old Trafford before the transfer window slams shut.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial both have uncertain futures beyond this summer in the Manchester United shirt with the former looking to make his way out the exit door in the hopes of signing for a Champions League competing club.

Spanish heavyweights Atletico Madrid have been credited with an interest in the 37-year-old but it remains to be seen whether Ronaldo’s pay demands would sit well with Diego Simeone’s side.
