Manchester United could be without 8 defenders against Arsenal

In the midst of a downhill journey, Manchester United have been teased with another blow of not having 8 defenders to start for. While many have been injured others seem to be suspended for the upcoming game against Arsenal on Wednesday.

The players to miss mid-week game are Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian, Victor Lindelof and Ashley Young. Apart from Young who has been suspended, other 7 will miss the game owing to injuries.

While Luke Shaw’s injury is yet to be assured, it remains to be seen who will play if the Left-back misses the game. Ashley Young who took his spot while Shaw went out because of suspected knock will be absent after he received his 5th yellow card of the season.

Meanwhile, Portuguese teenage Diogo Dalot could play in Right-back position where Young naturally started off matches. Our main concern remains centre-back where all of our 4 penned players, Bailly, Lindelof, Bailly and Jones remain injured.

Marcos Rojo has broken his injury shackle and will be expecting first appearance for the Reds, this season. The Argentine has remained injured for half gone season and will be a tough option to make him play. The preferred centre-back position will be displayed by Scott and Matic, most probably.

Will Mourinho continue with 5-3-2 formation like last game or will the Portuguese understand the need of “attack attack attack” and play with a defender less.
