Manchester United didn’t sign anyone from Solskjaer’s priority signings

When the summer transfer window opened, Manchester United were reportedly eager, as they wanted to build from their third-place finish in the Premier League. But until deadline day, the Red Devils had only signed one player, as Donny Van de Beek joined from Ajax. It has now been reported by ESPN that Manchester United didn’t even sign one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s priority signings.

It was widely reported that the Red Devils were in dire need of a midfielder, a right-winger and a strong centre-back this summer. Though United have signed a midfielder, an established right-winger and a centre-back were not signed by Manchester United. The right-wingers signed by United are merely a couple of talented 18-year olds, who will likely go to the u-23s.

It has been now been reported that United didn’t sign even one of Solskjaer’s priority signings, which included Jack Grealish, Jadon Sancho and Dayot Upamecano. The Red Devils came closest to signing Sancho but decided not to because of the price tag attached to him. This summer has yet again shown the incompetency of the Manchester United board and their unwillingness to back a manager.

The poor transfer window has given Solskjaer little or no hope to win any silverware this season at Old Trafford, which means the manager might ultimately face sacking.
