A wine betters with age and so does players with impractical abilities. Atletico Madrid’s star centre-back, Diego Godin may have aged 32 but is still improvising his game and molding accordingly.
The Uruguay national has been termed an “imminent” need for United.
Most probable transfer in January window, Godin has not signed a new contract with his present team, Atletico Madrid.
The experienced centre-back is a tough lad that Atletico would leave.
However, United have shown interest in Godin and seem to be in the top of the list.
Already in a deep need of a central defender, Mourinho would be pleased to sign a player to shoulder upon.
Betway’s Alan Alger has enumerated why Red Devils are favourites to sign Godin.
“Manchester United look to be in desperate need of a cornerstone centre-back and Diego Godin could be the one to fill the void as soon as this January. Having almost got his man over the summer, Jose Mourinho is being well-backed at 5/2 to complete a deal in the new year.
”Atletico are 1/3 to hold onto their star defender, though that price could be set to lengthen as the winter window approaches.”
Regarded as best in business, Godin’s only drawback would be his age.
With the likes of Spurs’ Toby Alderweireld and Napoli’s Koulibaly an available substitute, United may back down Godin if they are successful in signing any of these two.
