Manchester United has been drawn against Spanish side Granada in the Europa League quarterfinals after the recent win over AC Milan. It will be the first time that both the teams play against each other in a serious game like this on such a big stage.
It is the first time ever in which Granada has partaken in a significant European competition. Granada are presently eighth in La Liga, about 27 points behind pioneers Atletico Madrid, and are basically quite behind the top four.
The primary leg will be played in Spain on 8th April, with the return at Old Trafford seven days after the first leg on 15th April.
The current Scenario is that if United beat the Andalusians, they can be drawn against the champ of the Ajax versus Roma quarterfinals which will make it a mouth-watering semi-finals clash. That could set them facing the former United center-backs Daley Blind or Chris Smalling relying upon which of those different sides advances.
Manchester United would play the main leg of the Semi-finals first leg at home on the 29th of April, with the subsequent leg to occur on the 6th of May. Should the Red Devils progress right to the last, their potential rivals would be Arsenal, Slavia Prague, Dynamo Zagreb, or Villareal and the match is booked to occur in Gdansk, Poland on Wednesday 26th May.
It is, for once, a moderately kind of draw for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, who will maintain a strategic distance from second top picks Arsenal until the last event that they can advance.
Manchester United has a good game in hand and winning against Granada will boost up their confidence moving ahead in the tournament. Granada will not be a big opponent for Manchester United but still, Solksjaer and his men will not take the opponents lightly in any case.
