Manchester United Eager To Sign Wolves Midfielder Ruben Neves

According to the Mirror, Manchester United is interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves.

The Portuguese midfielder is expected to leave Wolves at the end of the season as his current contract expires in June next year.

United has reportedly made an approach to sign him in recent months. However, Neves strongly desires to join Barcelona, and personal terms for a four-year deal have already been agreed upon.

The completion of the transfer depends on Barcelona’s ability to generate funds through player sales. While Neves is known for his hard work in midfield, there are concerns regarding his speed and mobility.

This season, he has completed only 84% of his passes in the league and has been dispossessed frequently. Although Neves is an exceptional midfielder, we believe that United should explore better options to strengthen their midfield.

Brighton & Hove Albion star Alexis Mac Allister would be a more suitable player for the club. The Argentine could be enticed to join Old Trafford, especially if United secures Champions League football.

The fans would question the logic of United’s pursuit of Neves, considering his evident desire to join Barcelona. It is highly unlikely that the Red Devils will pursue a move for the Portuguese.

Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed United’s desire to sign a new midfielder this summer. It is expected that Ten Hag will sign a striker and midfielder before going for other options in the market.
