Manchester United enter race to sign Liverpool target Jhon Duran

Manchester United has entered the race to sign highly-rated MLS talent, Jhon Duran and will have to fend off competition from rivals Liverpool.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils have expressed interest in luring Duran to the Theatre of Dreams. The Red Devils have been in touch with the MLS team about Duran, weeks after Liverpool made similar inquiries for the attacker.

Duran’s agent and family just visited England. After falling to 12th in the MLS Eastern Conference, Chicago may be especially eager to sell their forward in the near future.

The South American star has been nothing short of a revelation in the MLS and is currently one of the biggest prospects. In 27 games last season, the 18-year-old scored eight goals and provided five assists. Deals are possible since Chicago Fire, Duran’s parent club, have established themselves as feeder teams for Premier League teams. Their former goalkeeper, Gabriel Slonina, was recently raided by Chelsea.

The Colombian striker may be acquired for a bargain sum of £10 million, which is what the Chicago Fire are ready to demand from their superstar.

Duran might be an affordable choice for United at this price, especially in light of Erik ten Hag’s current dearth of offensive options.
