Manchester United eye shocking last-minute Raphinha transfer swoop

According to the Mirror, Manchester United are considering a stunning last-minute offer for Barcelona ace Raphinha before the transfer window shuts down.

The 26-year-old Brazilian was signed by the Catalan giants from Leeds for £55 million only this past summer. But with only four goals and seven assists in 27 appearances, he has yet to make a significant contribution at the Nou Camp.

And according to The Mirror, Barcelona may release him to make room in their budget for Ilkay Gundogan, who will be joining them in the summer. The Red Devils are rarely busy in the January transfer window. However, Facundo Pellistri and Anthony Elanga might be on their way out on loan from Erik ten Hag’s team before the deadline on Tuesday.

But they would only move if a sufficient replacement was in place. Raphinha might be that person, since the South American has experience playing in the Premier League thanks to his excellent tenure at Leeds.

However, Chelsea provides tough competition for United, as they are also keeping an eye on the player’s status on deadline day.

The Blues will make a move for him if he is still available when the season is over. Last summer, the Brazilian international was on the verge of signing with Chelsea and Arsenal.

But, Raphinha made it clear that the Spanish giants were his “dream” club, and Barca ultimately succeeded in signing him. However, it would be interesting to see how this entire transfer rumour progresses in the upcoming days.
