According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are actively looking into the transfer market for a new left-back due to Luke Shaw’s recent injury setback.
The English international has suffered a muscular injury, and there are reports, including from David Ornstein, suggesting that he may be sidelined for an extended period of several weeks.
United are currently facing a shortage of senior left-back options in their squad due to Shaw’s injury, and with Tyrell Malacia also injured since pre-season, this problem has intensified. Malacia got injured while on international duty.
While Alvaro Fernandez, a young academy graduate, is a natural choice to fill in for Shaw, there are discussions about potentially loaning him to Granada with a possible buy option.
Diogo Dalot, who has occasionally played as a left-back, is expected to start in the upcoming match against Nottingham Forest. Lisandro Martinez could be another alternative.

Given this situation, it’s not surprising that United are actively searching for a short-term solution in the form of a new left-back.
Recently, Man United allowed Brandon Williams to go on loan to Ipswich Town. The 22-year-old could have been an option to fill in for Shaw’s absence due to injury.
As a result, it appears that Diogo Dalot is now the likely choice to start against Forest on Saturday. While Fernandez had a successful loan spell at Preston North End last season, he has yet to make his debut for United.
This lack of Premier League experience might be a reason for the club’s interest in seeking a new left-back.
With only a week remaining before the transfer deadline, the Red Devils are now in a race against time to find a short-term replacement, although securing a top-class left-back won’t be easy.
