Manchester United Eyeing Move For Christian Eriksen

According to the latest reports, Premier League giants Manchester United are weighing up a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen in the January transfer window.

There is still a lot of speculation surrounding Paul Pogba and the midfielder’s future at Old Trafford as the 26-year-old has made it quite clear that he wants a new challenge. Pogba was extremely close to making a move to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer transfer window as Real Madrid were interested in the World Cup-winning star but failed to negotiate a deal before the transfer window closed.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that Pogba is not going anywhere in the January transfer market as well as he is a key man for his plans at Old Trafford. But if history has taught us anything it is that football is extremely unpredictable and so are the transfers.

If Pogba decides to leave the club in the winter transfer window, United will need a suitable replacement and have identified Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen as his successor. The 27-year-old is into the final few months of his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and is stalling a new deal.

Solskjaer also wants to strengthen his side for the second half of the season and Eriksen would be a great option in the attacking third as he has the experience of playing in the Premier League as well as the knack for scoring goals on regular occasions.

Although United are eager to buy the Danish midfielder in the January transfer window they might decide to wait until next summer as Eriksen could be available for a cheaper price.
