Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be willing to fund the transfer of former Arsenal talisman Aaron Ramsey after reports have emerged that Ramsey’s present side Juventus FC are willing to offload the midfielder.
Ramsey had signed for the reigning Serie A champions just a year ago in a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Arsenal FC. The Welsh international had impressed during a stay at the London based Premier League side and had a host of top teams wanting to secure his transfer. However, Ramsey chose to move abroad and join Juventus FC in their pursuit to win the Champions League along with other domestic honours.
Ramsey’s time at Juventus FC has been marred by a series of successive injuries which has had an adverse effect on his time on the football pitch. The 29-year old Welsh international had been able to make just nine starts for the Italian giants and is proving to be a financial burden to the Juventus FC management due to his extremely high wages of £400,000-a-week.
Manchester United along with Tottenham Hotspurs are the two Premier League sides believed to be keen on adding Ramsey to their ranks ahead of the start of next season.
The Welsh international is widely experienced to the style of play in the Premier League and is incredibly versatile in several midfield roles. The decision of Juventus FC wanting to let Ramsey depart is primarily due to the high wages the 29-year old earns while playing for the Old Lady. A decision to let the midfielder depart on a loan move to the Premier League is being mulled over by the Juventus FC executives as they seek to curtail wasteful spending in light of the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
A swap deal involving Manchester United FC’s Paul Pogba and Ramsey has been rumoured in recent weeks.
Pogba’s decision to stay at Old Trafford or leave in the summer is still unknown even to Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
However, if the World-Cup winning star chooses to depart Manchester United FC and join his former team Juventus FC, the Red Devils could make an approach for Ramsey in exchange of Pogba.
