Manchester United FC don’t want to extend Alexis Sanchez’s loan deal at Inter Milan. The club is unwilling to extend the player’s loan, as they don’t want to strengthen a direct opponent in the Europa League.
Alexis Sanchez joined Manchester United FC in the summer of 2018, from Arsenal FC. The Chilean was Arsenal’s talisman having scored 80 and set up 45 goals in 166 matches. He was given the famous No. 7 for the Red Devils but has failed miserably at Manchester United FC.
Alexis has scored just five goals for United in 45 outings. This seems too little, especially for someone earning about £390,000 per week. Sanchez was the highest-paid player in the Premier League but has failed to live up to his potential at Manchester United FC.
Looking at his dismal form and high wages, United manager Solskjær sent Sanchez on-loan to Inter Milan in 2019. Inter paid about £6m of Sanchez’s wages. He hasn’t been good for them either, battling with injuries, and scoring only once in 17 matches.
Sanchez has been looking good lately after the pandemic, and Inter want to extend his loan till the end of the season. Inter are thin up front, with Martinez and Lukaku the only known strikers. With Lautaro Martinez keen on an exit, Conte looks to extend Sanchez’s loan to bolster his side’s attack.
Manchester United FC, on the other hand, don’t want to extend Sanchez’s loan at Inter. The Red Devils are one of the favourites to win the Europa League and so is Inter Milan. United don’t want to enhance their rival’s chances of winning the trophy and look to bring back Sanchez.
Alexis Sanchez has shown glimpses of his former self when Inter Milan played Juventus in a 2-0 loss. The Chilean looks sharp and has got the Internet hyped with a picture of his muscular legs. The picture has given both Inter and United fans belief that the Chilean might finally live up to what is expected of him.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær wants to bring back Sanchez and give him one last chance to excel at Old Trafford. But it is believed that Sanchez will get a squad role, and will have to earn his place in the starting-11. Only time will tell if the forward remains to be one of the biggest flops at United or rejuvenates his career.
