Manchester United fear losing out on two Ajax stars due to their price tag

Manchester United fear that they may be priced out of a double deal by one of its Premier League rivals.

As Erik ten Hag attempts to bring players with him from Amsterdam to Old Trafford, the Red Devils have been strongly linked with two Ajax talents.

However, Ajax has no intention of granting him any special favours this summer by striking cheap deals. The players in question are Antony and Lisandro Martinez, as United hopes to bolster its defense and wider attacking areas this summer.

However, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Martinez is being pursued by Arsenal, so United would better move quickly if they are to complete a deal this summer.

The problem is that they could need to decide which player they need the most because Ajax will demand between £115 million and £130 million to sell the two players this summer.

Lisandro Martinez is worth between £45 million and £50 million, while Antony is valued between £70 million and £80 million. Currently, Manchester United have been inching more towards Antony. The Brazilian winger could be their next signing once they striker a deal for Frenkie De Jong.

The club’s board was initially not linked with a move for Martinez, however their inability to land his teammate Jurrien Timber has made them to look for other alternatives.

Manchester United is also trying to upgrade in other areas this summer, particularly midfield, which may well rule out any possible double deal for both the Ajax players.
