Manchester United full-back Alex Telles set to join Al-Nassr on a permanent deal

Reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester United full-back Alex Telles has completed his medical examination and officially signed a contract with Al Nassr.

There were initial delays in the deal as the Saudi Arabian club was considering other left-back options, but they eventually sealed the move for the Brazilian player.

In a surprising turn of events, there has been a U-turn in the last 24 hours regarding Telles’ transfer. The 29-year-old defender successfully underwent the main part of his medical with Al Nassr in Riyadh today.

According to Romano, Al Nassr have sent the signed contracts to United, officially completing the deal.

Telles’ time at United was marked by being a decent acquisition, but he struggled to secure a regular place in the starting XI, as his arrival in 2020 coincided with an impressive upturn in form for Luke Shaw.

After having a credible season on loan with Sevilla, Telles has now made the switch to Saudi Arabia for a transfer fee of £4 million. While the deal includes additional add-ons, the specific amount has not been disclosed.

The club was hoping for a higher transfer fee for Telles, but the amount received will still contribute to increasing their budget for new player signings this summer.

In addition to Telles, there is a chance that Eric Bailly might also join Al Nassr, as talks are currently ongoing with the Ivorian defender regarding his contract package.

Meanwhile, Man United are expected to approve Anthony Elanga’s departure within the next few days. Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement to sign the player for £15 million.

Notably, there is also interest from Steve Cooper’s side in securing goalkeeper Dean Henderson. However, they would prefer a loan deal with a potential option to buy next summer.
