Manchester United FC were in the lookout of a right-winger from the beginning of this summer transfer window. It was reported that the Red Devils were interested in Barcelona prodigy Ansu Fati for some time but a move never materialized. It is now being reported by Goal.com and SportsBible, who quote Catalunya Radio saying United had a bid of £136m rejected by Barcelona for Fati.
Manchester United’s priority signing of Jadon Sancho hasn’t been done yet as United have failed to reach an agreement with Dortmund. Dortmund are reportedly asking about £108m for their talisman, but United feel the amount is too much, keeping the pandemic in mind. Thus, as the Red Devils were looking for alternatives, the name of Ansu Fati had popped up several times.
It is now being bizarrely reported that the Red Devils had placed a bid of £136m for Ansu Fati. It was quickly turned down by Barcelona as they didn’t wish to sell their 17-year old prodigy, It has also been reported that before Fatis’s contract extension, United were also willing to pay the £154m release clause of Fati.
Barcelona rejected Man Utd's £136m bid for Ansu Fati before the wonderkid signed a new contract at Camp Nou.
According to Catalunya Radio, the Red Devils were then willing to pay Fati's £154m release clause until Barca informed them it had risen to £363m with his new deal. pic.twitter.com/RxJ3zDAgV0

This is very hard to believe as United have been trying to drive down Sancho’s price tag which is significantly less than £154m. With only six days left in the transfer market
