Manchester United handed blow over James Maddison transfer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United have been hit with a massive transfer blow as Leicester City star midfielder James Maddison is reportedly not for sale.

Manchester United was in dire need of a creative midfielder since the start of the season. Following the signing of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon in the January transfer window, United have improved massively. The attacking midfielder has already scored three goals and notched up four assists in seven appearances for the English outfit. At just 25 years old, Fernandes is tipped to be a success at Manchester United for the future.

However, a club the size and stature of Manchester United needs a few more top quality midfielders in their arsenal. The speculations around Frenchman Paul Pogba is still up in the air as the 27-year-old has been linked with a move to join LaLiga side Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. Manchester United have to replace their talismanic World Cup winner if he does and are eyeing up a move for Leicester City playmaker James Maddison.

Maddison has been in great form for Leicester City over the past two seasons and a number of top clubs in the European continent are monitoring his situation at the King Power stadium. The red side of Manchester was keen on bringing the talented 23 year old English midfielder at Old Trafford but has been hit with a massive transfer blow.

It is reported that Maddison is no longer interested in a move away from King Power as Leicester City are improving under Brendan Rodgers. Furthermore, Leicester City are not interested in parting with Maddison anytime soon as he is one of the imperative cogs for the Foxes.
