Manchester United have a plan in place for wonderkid Kobbie Mainoo

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, midfield starlet Kobbie Mainoo has already established himself as one of Manchester United’s key player in their Under-18 side.

The 17-year-old rose quickly through the youth ranks during the past year, playing in the UEFA Youth League, becoming one of the Under-18s’ youngest players, and even making a few appearances in the Premier League 2, where the majority of players are close to their 20s.

Although he may be training with players who are a few years older than him, he should be looked at as an example by those who are even older. His technical prowess and tenacity are so admirable that United’s first-team players should take note of his attitude.

Mainoo is able to throw fantastic nutmegs, win back the ball by dodging anyone in his path, and throw out perfectly timed crosses. In other words, he exudes the bold desire Manchester United needs. The 17-year-old was promoted to United’s Under-21 team after winning the FA Youth Cup last year. Mainoo, a Stockport native, joined the United youth system when he was nine years old and inked his first professional contract with the team in May 2022.

There is interest emerging for the young midfielder and it is unlikely that he will leave the club anytime soon. He would be loaned out by the Red Devils. Mainoo was named on the bench by Erik ten Hag in the latest match against Newcastle United.
