As per Eurosport (h/t The Sun), Manchester United could direct their concentration toward Pau Torres as they proceed with their quest for a strong center-back.
The Red Devils were taking a gander at Jules Kounde yet could change to Torres due to his lower transfer fee involved.
In the course of the most recent couple of months, a few center-backs have arisen on Manchester United’s radar and the overall inclination is that the club are taking a gander at a drawn-out accomplice for Harry Maguire. One of the objectives, Dayot Upamecano previously joined Bayern Munich. That left them going to Jules Kounde of Sevilla.
It was even said that the Red Devils were prepared to take any action for Kounde, however, ongoing reports have proposed that the club could view Pau Torres as a more reasonable choice. The 24-year-old Spaniard has been connected to a few different clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea on past events.
A £43m transfer fee exists in Torres’ agreement which makes the Villarreal star a feasible alternative for United. That sum has been supposed to be the maximum United will pay for another middle back next season.
There is plainly a requirement for another new dominant center-back to accomplice Maguire with Lindelof disappointing and Eric Bailly being injury inclined. Pau Torres could address a huge and valuable piece of venture for them in such a manner.
United would look to add in more depth as well. Bailly has shown some promising performances this season but has been hugely sidelined for most of the time which makes it difficult to partner him with Maguire in most of the matches. Lindelof’s performances have rapidly declined over the past few months.
This leads to United making a shift in their defensive proposal and try to rope in Torres to improve defensively and challenge for the trophy.
