Manchester United hold an advantage in the race to sign Goncalo Ramos

According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United has an advantage in their pursuit of signing Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos as the Portuguese club has identified a potential replacement for the attacker.

The Red Devils are expected to sign a new centre-forward in the forthcoming transfer window, and current reports suggest that negotiations over Ramos are on with Benfica.

The Portuguese team appears to be making preparations for life without him in the coming season, and United would be willing to pay £70 million upfront with an additional £30 million in add-ons.

The club has reportedly opposed Ramos’ sale during the past few years, but they are unlikely to do so during the upcoming transfer window. With Erik Ten Hag in charge, it is also said that United are interested in stealing him away.

Benfica have earmarked Getafe’s Enes Unal as a reasonably priced alternative. Enes Unal has scored 14 goals in the Spanish top division this season. He might be theirs for just £17 million.

The 21-year-old’s season with Benfica has been outstanding. Over the course of 45 appearances in all competitions, he has scored 26 goals and provided 12 assists.

Ramos has also established himself with Portugal’s national team. In the World Cup round of 16, he defeated Switzerland with a brilliant hat trick.

As a result, his reputation has been substantially improved, and given his tremendous potential, he would be a wise investment for the Red Devils. Ramos has distinguished himself in addition to his involvement in goals with his work ethic and consistent high press.

These qualities might work well for Ten Hag’s playing style at United. Given his age, he has a chance to develop into a star player. However, United need to move quicker as Paris Saint-Germain has also expressed an interest in him.
