Manchester United hold exploratory talks with Juventus star Adrien Rabiot

According to Goal Italy, Manchester United has initiated exploratory contacts with Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot for a potential free transfer this summer.

The French international was a primary target for manager Erik Ten Hag last year, and discussions were held regarding future plans.

While United agreed on a transfer fee with Juventus at the time, the deal fell through due to Rabiot’s wage demands of around €10 million per year.

However, it is now reported that United is once again pursuing the 28-year-old midfielder based on Ten Hag’s recommendation. Rabiot has had an impressive season at Juventus, contributing 11 goals and six assists in 47 matches.

Last year, United fans were not thrilled with the club’s pursuit of Rabiot, and there was criticism due to his underwhelming performances.

Ultimately, the club signed Casemiro instead, and the Brazilian midfielder has been highly regarded for his defensive and offensive contributions.

The former Real Madrid star has been a crucial figure in United’s midfield, displaying his defensive prowess while also contributing significantly in the attacking third with involvement in 14 goals.

The club is now exploring the possibility of signing Adrien Rabiot, a World Cup finalist, who could prove to be a clever addition due to his impressive box-to-box abilities.

Rabiot has enjoyed a productive season at Juventus, contributing to 17 goals and showcasing solid defensive skills with two tackles per game and winning an average of 5.8 duels.

Should the deal materialize, Rabiot could complement Casemiro in the midfield, potentially sharing playing time with Christian Eriksen in the number eight role. The primary concern revolves around whether United will meet Rabiot’s salary demands during the summer transfer window.

Given his improved form, the club might be inclined to do so but could also offer a substantial signing-on bonus, considering his contract with Juventus expires on June 30.
